How do I create a drop down in a cell on a worksheet? For instance, on a standard form it may have Mr., Mrs, Sir, Madam, as options in the dropdown and when you get to that cell the user can only select one option.
To do this you need to create a range with the Mr. Mrs, Sir and Madam.
For example in the below diagram enter the cells with Mr, Mrs etc. Then in the prompt bar above column A, enter a name for the range. In my example I have entered Title. This represents cells C2 to C5.
Go to cell A1, where we will place the drop down list, and then click on Data validation. You will then get to a screen per below. Change Allow to List and in the Source field enter =Title which was the range that we had defined.
A drop down list will now appear in cell A1.
