Filter

What is Filter or Filtering?

Filtering allows you to only show the data with a selected parameter for specific rows.

For example, in the below diagram I have many rows in column B, a mixture of books, pens and pencils.
But I only want to see rows that have books.

To do this follow the below diagram.

Adding Filter

You can now choose books, (or pen, or pencil) and then only those rows will be shown. This helps in looking for data and editing data.

You can even filter on many columns at once. So for example, you may want to see only books (column B) and only small (column C) i.e. you only want to see Books that are Small.

Adding a filter

Show All

Sometimes, you may have filtered many columns and you want to return to the position where none of the filters have been selected, but the filters are still there.

You can easily do this by following the below diagram, Show All.
